Earlier this year in Hamburg, Germany, at AIX2024, FTS showcased its first cargo hold surveillance system for commercial aircraft. This system has now completed airworthiness certification.
Beyond transporting high value-added commercial goods, air freight has inherent advantages in carrying time-sensitive products like pharmaceuticals, relief supplies, and epidemic prevention materials that have strict environmental requirements. In recent years, the demand for air freight has been growing. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) recently released data on total cargo demand through September 2024, rose by 9.4% compared to September 2023 levels, showing 14 consecutive months of growth.
Aircraft connectivity and digitisation of civil passenger transport has undergone rapid development,The cargo aviation sector is also expected to leverage the advanced technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce accidents.
FTS has launched a video monitoring and aircraft data solution for freighters. This solution can provide real-time monitoring of the cargo hold status during flight, collect and process onboard data, and allow the pilot or the crew to receive the information via the EFB. The system also has edge computing capabilities to automatically detect and promptly alert the crew of any cargo hold emergencies, helping them make optimal decisions.
This system has already obtained airworthiness certification from CAAC and completed its first implementation with a major Chinese airline.
